Fault Level at any given point of the electric power system is the maximum current that would flow in case of short circuit condition. 

WHAT IS FAULT LEVEL ANALYSIS? 

Fault analysis in power distribution system is necessary for selection of proper protective devices such as relays and circuit breakers. So that fault is cleared as early as possible and equipment in the substation are protected from heavy short circuit current.
